Eating at Wolfgang Steakhouse LA

Please note: This is not a Wolfgang Puck restaurant.  Wolfgang Zwiener was previously the head waiter for Peter Lugers in New York, so naturally the restaurant style is very similar.  You order a cut that’s shared with your entire party.

So how does it compare?

The oysters were decent.  They were fresh and sweet, but nothing else was memorable about them.

Like Peter Luger, they also had the slab of bacon.  The bacon slab was pretty crispy which is how I prefer, whereas at Peter Luger it lacked that crisp.

It also came out on a hot charred plate with the waiter distributing the pieces of steak to the rest of the party.

And after distributing the medium rare portions, this is how it came out.  The filet part of the porterhouse was a bit tastier and more tender than the strip side for some reason.

Comparatively to Peter Lugers in Brooklyn, I think the overall experience is the same if not better.  If you live in LA and have a lust for Peter Lugers in Brooklyn, Wolfgang Steakhouse is so similar and arguably better that you don’t really have to make that trip to NYC.
